4 Casual Valentine’s Day Looks

Lizanne January

Once February rolls around, I immediately get giddy for Valentine’s Day. I’m a sucker for ANY holiday, including the day where it’s socially acceptable to mix pink and red together and no one can say anything. (Although I am an advocate for a thoughtful mix of pink and red all year round- you do you boo!)

This time of the year I do love my fair share of pinks, reds, glitter, faux fur, & sequins. I love how easy they are to mix in for a fun and spunky Valentine’s look!

The looks seen here are all budget friendly & comfy casual! You can easily dress them up a bit more or dress ‘em down!

Look #1 – Trendy

This is one of my favorites because it’s super fun with the faux fur. Anchor your outfit with your favorite pair of jeans and throw on a simple solid top. Pick a bright, faux fur cropped jacket and let the coat do the talking for you! I snagged this one on super sale at Target (Wild Fable FTW) but I’ve linked some more here & here.

Keep accessories minimal but fun. I added this cute heart handbag from Target with some fun LOVE heart hoops. (Additional option here) Small bags are all the rage lately, too! This smaller size won’t steal the spotlight from the jacket either.

The look is perfect for Galentine’s Day outing or a fun and flirty Happy Hour. If you’re feeling extra bold, try a skirt and knee-high boots for a fancier look.

Look #2 – Professional

With Valentine’s Day being on Thursday this year I’m assuming 90% of you will be working, so why not have fun with it? Whether your dress code is business casual or professional, snag a red blazer. I love this one from Calvin Klein. I wear it year round when I’m needing to feel extra bold! (Actual one sold out, but here’s another option.)

To add a little quirkiness to the look, add patterned tote. Bonus if there’s a fun graphic on it!

Wear this to work with your dress pants or jeans, then switch to a fun distressed pair for after work. Complete the look with these flatform oxfords!

Look #3 – Extra Casual

This is the “I don’t have anything to wear, but want to look at least a LITTLE festive” look. Add glitter or sequins and you’re automatically festive! I love this sequin lips tee from JustFab. It’s super comfy and I like to layer it under a denim jacket or blazer too. I dropped it off the shoulder for a little more relaxed look this time. You can finish it off with jeans and booties or I went a little extra and added my sparkle Vans!

Feel free to add a red lip to make the tee or some fun red earrings. It’s a perfect outfit for a last minute invite or a brewery hopping.

Additional Lips Tee here & here. Not a fan of Vans? Try some sparkle Toms or glitter Keds.

Look #4 – Classic

Are you the type of person who hates Valentine’s Day? Okay maybe hate is a strong word, but maybe you aren’t into fur, glitter, or anything too bold. This last look is perfect for you. My favorite way to feel festive is to add a pop of color to a clean, classic look. Take your favorite pants, a neutral white sweater or blouse (try black or grey too!) and add a red handbag. This one from is small enough to not make too much a statement but still be fun.

Add on however much red or pink you want! I continued with red earrings and a red lip. If you want more, feel free to add on red shoes too. Make it your own with whatever you feel comfortable in.

I hope you enjoyed this and got some inspo for your own unique valentine’s look! If you have any questions for me or need some advice on look, feel free to shoot me an email! I love to style people – I’m here for ya!
