MN Gift Guide – 2021

Holidays are near and shopping local is more important than ever this season! I pulled together some of my FAVORITE local brands for some gift ideas for 2021. Wood artists of the Shore, Bailey Builds is a husband and wife duo are some of the most talented and creative couples ever! They have a shop in Duluth that carries their designs along with other local artists too. During December they are releasing new products weekly so make sure to check back in to see what’s new. They also make these Bailey Buildables that I think are the perfect gift option, ranging from $30-$45.


Always on my feet, I never go anywhere without my Minnetonkas! I am in love with their Home and Away collection as it has a style for every occasion and trip I go on. Plus they are all indoor/outdoor so I can zip in and out as I need to without changing shoes. Worker B

Worker B is a group of passionate beekeepers who harness bee-created ingredients to create clean and healthy skincare products of the highest quality. They have an extensive line that is great for all skincare types – even those with sensitive skin. I highly recommend their Rescue Putty for dry and cracked skin in the winter. Koselig Candles

Koselig is Norwegian for cozy and it’s exactly what these candles convey. With scents for all season, Koselig Candle is another local brand that I frequently purchase from. All candles are hand-poured, hand-labeled, and hand shipped. They are currently working on a Brick and Mortar store that should open soon in White Bear Lake! My personal favorite scents are lavender + Spruce & Balsam Fir + Clove and I can’t wait to try their newest launch – an Ode to Minnesota.

Great Lakes Co

My favorite Northern Outfitter, Great Lakes brings nostalgic lake life and midwest living classic appreal and accessories. Their products are created from inspiration from things like family trips up north, weekends at the lake, and pond hockey tournaments. My favorite items are the weathered crew, their mittens, and cozy cabin socks! Shop them now through 11/29 for 25% off everything!

North Woven Goods

A weaver and writer on the shore, Emily Wick started North Woven Goods as a way to Deepen attention to nature, others & self through making. She hand weaves the most beautiful wall hanging, earrings, and coasters (pictured here) and is constantly weaving pieces that inspire her from living on the shore.

Carmine Leather Jack

Ryan and Will use the highest quality leather in combination with the time-honored construction methods to create heritage quality leather goods for Carmine Leather Jack. It all starts with Oak Bark leather from London that lands in Minnesota and is handcrafted into strapped goods. They have both custom-made items and ready-to-ship items – Definitely a brand to keep an eye on!

Hannah Palma Ceramics

Born and raised in Grand Marais, Hannah Palma has been doing ceramic for 13 years. Her emphases for her Art & Art History degree were Japanese Woodblock Printmaking & Soda Fired Ceramics. The two mediums began to fuse when she started to realize she liked the woodblock she had carved more than the finished print on the wall. Fast forward to using the woodblocks for her ceramic designs to create one-of-a-kind pieces that portray the beauty of Lake Superior, Slow living, and the Northwoods. I was lucky enough to purchase my own mug this year directly from her studio in Grand Marais and fell in love with it! Really, all of her pieces have a story and are so meaningful.

Women-owned and operated, Namakan believes with the right gear, it’s never too cold. They create versatile winter faux fur pieces that you can take from hat to hat or jacket to jacket. WAAM Industries

WAAM (We are always Moving) Industries designs their products inspired by vintage finds & utilitarian objects and are made by their small team in rural Minnesota. Their goods are designed with intention and are built to last the test of time. I noticed their wooden milk crates first, as they have the perfect sizes to be a record holder. Aside from that their products are just so functional and great for any man or woman in your life.
